چکیده

This paper describes a collaborative modeling environment to support the analysis and interpretation of statutory texts, i.e., laws. The paper performs a case study on formalizing the product liability act and proposes a data-centric process that enables the formalization of laws. The implemented application integrates state-of-the-art text mining technologies to assist legal experts during the formalization of norms by automatically detecting key concepts within legal texts, e.g., legal definitions, obligations, etc. The work at hand elaborates on the implementation of data science environment and describes key requirements, a reference architecture and a collaborative user interface.

Verification of the SAP reference models using EPC reduction, state-space analysis, and invariants

A reference model is a generic conceptual model that formalizes recommended practices for a certain domain. Today, the SAP reference models are among the most comprehensive reference models, including over 4000 entity types and covering over 1000 business processes and inter-organizational scenarios. The SAP reference models use Event-driven Process Chains (EPCs) to model these processes and sc...

Pattern Based Methodology for Development of Executable Process Models

Business process management is a key tool for organisations in streamlining their internal business and aligning it with that of collaborators. Managing business processes requires adequate support by information technology and has given rise to the advent of Process Aware Information Systems (PAIS), which manage and execute processes involving people, applications, and information sources. Mos...

Leveraging workflow control patterns in the domain of clinical practice guidelines

BACKGROUND Clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) include recommendations describing appropriate care for the management of patients with a specific clinical condition. A number of representation languages have been developed to support executable CPGs, with associated authoring/editing tools. Even with tool assistance, authoring of CPG models is a labor-intensive task. We aim at facilitating the ...

A Method for Functional Alignment Verification in Hierarchical Enterprise Models

Enterprise modeling involves multiple domains of expertise: requirements engineering, business process modeling, IT development etc. Our experience has shown that hierarchical enterprise models, made of an assembly of system models, are effective. In these models, two hierarchies exist: an organizational level hierarchy (describing systems’ construction) and a functional level hierarchy (descri...

Taking advantage of the symbiotic relationship between tools and processes to support executable process models

An approach for tight coupling of process models and software development tools — with the metaphor of component-based software development environments — supporting “eXecutable Process Models” (XPM) is presented. In this paper, we focus on the direction from the components of a software development environment towards the process models in order to automatically acquire process model informati...
